The debate of the merits of both approaches went as far back as the zsl Squad Leader rulebook written by John Hill and Adl Greenwood. Along with the new semi-mounted mapboards replacing the older mounted style, these kits provided newcomers to ASL with everything they needed to get into the game with a minimum of reading.
