This is an ‘eh, just push them into the deep end’ kind of approach to learning. As of the third edition, this textbook is published exclusively by the MIT Press.
Some books on algorithms are rigorous but incomplete; others cover masses of material but lack rigor. The revised third edition notably adds a chapter on van Emde Boas trees, one of the most useful data structures, and on multithreaded algorithms, a topic of increasing importance.
I’m reviewing this for what it is: As such it probably earns more than the 3 stars I will give it from my own perspective. Get fast, free shipping with Amazon Prime. This book is impressive!
